Because compliant images travel further.

imageRelease replaces paper forms, email chains, and cabinets full of folders with a streamlined digital system for managing two key workflows: model and property releases when capturing images, and rights requests for licensing existing images.

Whether you're a commercial photographer, agency, or creative team, imageRelease keeps everything organised, searchable, and ready when you need it.

Getting releases signed

Capture consent on-shoot or remotely with seamless electronic signing

On site

When you need a release signed, generate a unique QR code from your imageRelease account. The person signing simply scans the code with their own phone - no app download required.
They review the release, add their signature, and submit. The signed release is instantly stored in your account, linked to the shoot.

Remote Signing

Not everyone is on site. Send a signing link via email or message for remote signatures. The signer receives the release on their device, signs electronically, and you're notified when it's complete.

Minor releases

When photographing anyone under 18, imageRelease automatically requires a parent or guardian co-signature. The workflow guides both parties through the process, ensuring you have proper consent documented.

Requesting Image Rights

Not all images come with releases attached. Sometimes you need to request permission to use images that already exist — whether from a previous shoot, a client's archive, or third-party sources. imageRelease handles this with dedicated image rights request workflows.

How It Works

Create an image rights request by specifying:

  • Image reference - The images you want to use
  • Purpose - How you intend to use them (advertising, editorial, web, etc.)
  • Terms - Duration, territory, exclusivity, and any consideration fee

The request is sent to the image owner, who can review the terms and approve or decline. Everything is documented with a full audit trail.

Third-Party Consent Tracking

When images involve multiple rights holders - perhaps the photographer, the subject, and a property owner - imageRelease tracks consent from each party. You'll know exactly whose approval you have and whose you're still waiting for.

Approval Workflow

Image owners receive your request with all the details clearly laid out. They can:

  • Approve the request as submitted
  • Decline with an explanation
  • Negotiate different terms

Once approved, you have documented proof of the rights granted, stored alongside your releases.

Organising Your Releases and Requests

Projects and Shoots

Group releases by project, client, and shoot date. Tag releases with relevant details so you can find them instantly, even years later.

Search and Filter

Looking for a specific release or rights request? Search by name, date, project, or client. Filter by type (model release, property release, image rights request) or status. Find any document in seconds.

Instant Retrieval

When a client asks for proof of consent, export the signed release as a verified PDF immediately. No more digging through folders or email archives.
